The stories suggesting that Formula 1 has settled on the idea of a street race in Delhi have been underscored by the news that F1 track architect Hermann Tilke was in Delhi on Monday to take a look at the streets of the city to figure out what would be best route for Formula 1 cars to use. This is likely to be in what is known as the Lutyens Bungalow Zone, an area where Sir Edwin Lutyens laid out dignified houses set back from wide tree-lined avenues. This now sits in the middle of the high-rise sprawling modern city.

Once a route has been established the process of getting through the Indian bureaucracy will begin.
