MUMBAI: The much-talked about Jinnah House, a palatial, seven-decade
magnificent structure, is to be resurrected into a vista for South Asian
Association for Regional Cooperation, with a soft launch slated to
coincide with India's 60th anniversary celebrations on August 15.
"We expect the centre to be thrown open to the public on August 15 to
coincide with the 60th anniversary celebrations of the country," Sanjeev
Kohli, Deputy Director, Indian Council for Cultural Relations said on
Tuesday.
"That is the sentiment, and for SACAC to be fully operational we are
looking towards December end," he said.
MUMBAI, India: The daughter of Pakistan's founder has petitioned an
Indian court to grant her possession of a home in Mumbai that he built
and lived in before the partition of the subcontinent in 1947, her
lawyer said Thursday.

Wadia’s renewed claim on Jinnah House by filing a writ petition in the
Bombay HC as reported by DNA on Wednesday has left Tasneem Mehta,
Convenor of the Indian National Trust for Arts and Cultural Heritage
(Intach), worried. Intach and the Indian Council for Cultural Relations
(ICCR) planned to convert the bungalow into a South Asia Centre for Arts
and Culture to promote cultural integration within South Asian
countries. “We are worried that the court case may force us to put the
plans on hold,” Mehta told DNA.
