ONE of Scotland's most famous architects, Richard Murphy, has accused
Cala Homes of using his name to win planning permission for a sensitive
A-listed building before ditching him for a competitor.
Murphy claims Cala Homes, the development giant chaired by Geoff Ball,
broke a contract with him to redevelop Donaldson's School, a landmark
19th-century building close to Edinburgh's Haymarket Station.
Murphy claims to have signed a contract to convert the A-listed
building, originally the work of William Playfair, into 70 flats and to
design a further 70 new-build flats within the school's extensive grounds.
