OPEN STUDIO DAY for International Eco-Art Residency

Friday, 21st December 2007, 18:00 onwards @ KHOJ STUDIOS

Khoj hosted an International Residency on Art and Ecology in an attempt to explore the relationship between Ecology & Art in public spaces from 12th November to 21th December 2007 in the city of Delhi . The International Eco Art residency aimed to focus on the role of art in encouraging ecological awareness and activism amongst local people.

SCHEDULE for THE ECO-ART RESIDENCY

Cabs shall be arranged from the KHOJ Studio to the sites on the 19th of December 2007, at 1200hrs for the site-specific tours. All are requested to be there on time.

Documentation of all the works will be on view on the Open Studio Day on 21st of December at KHOJ Studios from 1800 hrs onwards.



19th December: Rahel Hegnauer's on-site guided tour from the studios to the Yamuna at Kalindi Kunj explores a perspective of the river through an elevated bamboo platform. Tested samples of the river water will be discussed.

22th-29th December: Pradip Saha addresses the issue of traffic congestion in the busy metropolis. A cacophony of public opinion coupled with rattling visuals of traffic snarls, video projections will be on view at the corridors of Connaught Place from 19th evening

20th December 1200 hrs onwards : Kayle Brandon and Heath Bunting will organize a Cola making workshop with the local vendors in the Khirki Village to propagate a sustainable model of micro economy amongst them. Produced from edible essential oils and gum-arabic, the indigenous cola would then be sold on carts outside on the streets and at the Studios. Workshop is open for all.
