President of the Fondation Le Corbusier Jean-Pierre Duport is practically in awe of the architect, sculptor and painter Le Corbusier. Of his 80 works worldwide, 23 are being protected by the organisation. Duport speaks to ET.

Excerpts:

Why is there is sudden interest in the architectural circles of accumulating and highlighting Le Corbusier’s works?

Le Corbusier was one of the most progressive architects in the world. We’re talking here about the 40’s and the 50’s. During that time, travelling across the world was difficult and time consuming. Taking all these facts into account, Corbusier was one who has the maximum number of works in the world. We as a foundation are taking Corbusier’s legacy forward.
