Dear friends,
Now that the true colors of DDA and face of the proposed Residential
colony in the river bed called the Games Village is out (see the news
item below), it is necessary that we continue to resist it through
various measures including the ongoing court case at the HC of Delhi
for the security of our life line viz., river Yamuna.
One such measure could be by SAYING a BIG NO to the planned IPO by
EMMAR MGF worth Rs 7000 crores scheduled to open on Feb 1, 2008.
This IPO is nothing but a means to raise money from us for our own
ruin by the construction of the proposed residential colony in the
river bed by EMMAR MGF the only firm who bid and got the rights to
build after having paid Rs 400 crores as security deposit upfront to
the DDA.
The very reason why DDA VC held a press brief NOW to advertise
a sample flat (as reported in the Hindu story below) and had the
temerity to reassure the potential buyers not withstanding the
ongoing case in the High Court (it is nothing but a case of pre
judging the outcome of the case) is to also befool the potential
investors to the EMMAR MGF IPO opening February 1, 2008.
So, friends let us not allow ourselves to get sucked by these
nefarious designs of the DDA - builder mafia and thereby save our life
line the river Yamuna.
If you feel that this makes sense then please circulate it as widely
as possible on and off the net.
Best,
manoj

NEW DELHI: Providing a glimpse of one of its first works for the
Commonwealth Games in 2010, the Delhi Development Authority on Sunday
unveiled a model of the first sample flat to be built in the
Commonwealth Games Village on the Yamuna riverbed.
The three-bedroom sample flat with a modern compact design consists of
separate balconies attached to bedrooms and a separate servant quarter
along.
Slated to become premium property in future, this flat will be part of
the 27.5 acre residential complex to be developed by real estate
developer Emaarmgf to provide housing for about 8,000 athletes during
the Commonwealth Games.
Once the Games draw to a close, two-third of these flats would be
refurbished and sold by Emaarmgf in the open market, while the
remaining one-third will be sold by DDA as per the Rs.321 crore bid
won by Emaarmgf from DDA.
A total of 1161 apartments consisting 4,000 bedrooms will be
constructed as part of the project with each apartment ranging between
1,250 square feet to 3,000 square feet.
The apartments will consist of two to five bedrooms and the
residential construction would be spread across 34 towers.
The residential complex will be built on a podium with two levels
below for car parking and services.
The whole area would be landscaped with gardens, walkways and
pathways. Community amenities in the complex would include a club
house and convenience retail spaces.
The project is slated to be handed over to DDA by Emaarmgf on March
31, 2010.
Assuring that there have been no delays in implementation of the
several projects related to the Commonwealth Games undertaken by it,
DDA Vice-Chairman Dinesh Rai also made a presentation highlighting the
progress of their various projects.
