Multiplicity of controls over the functioning of colleges by different regulatory authorities is set to be removed soon. The Human Resources and Development Ministry has appointed a committee to look into the matter, which will prepare its first draft of suggestions in June. The committee is of the opinion that the institutions like UGC and AICTE should act as facilitators and not regulators.
