Curated by Dr Wulf Herzogenrath, the exhibition showcases Europe of the yesteryear — from a circular Gas Holder in Berlin to the Balford Tower in London and a crowded bus station in Porto, Portugal. “Through the images one can trace the development across the years,” says Parul Vadehra, director, Vadehra Art Gallery. The structures may be alien to the Indian audience but that does not bother Vadehra. “These are works of art rather than mere documentation and that will ensure a universal appeal,” she says. Meanwhile, if you want to see the big picture, the gallery will show the film Photographers Bernd and Hilla Becher on July 19 and orgainse a talk on “International Curatorial Practices” on July 25.
