by all reported accounts, the affidavit filed by Secy
MUD is indifferent to statutory DMP obligations, court
proceedings in related matters, etc. and this round is
in name not of Yamuna but Thames (news reports of
Thames-like-Yamuna, in terms only of good ole STPs,
came same day as those of the party thrown by Indian
PM for Brit PM, at Humayun's Tomb). i find DJB-bashing
in MUD affidavit and DJB quotes in media amusing.
re DMP reference in the matter, has anyone respondend
on environment and infrastructure chapters of DMP2021?
(mpisg responses refer to the SC matter as the yamuna
committee under Secy MUD was appointed last year and
its recos were in an anex in DMP2021; we suggested
their deletion on several grounds; same apply to rest
of what has been reported about the affidavit)

btw, re DMP2021 objections and suggestions, new dda vc
has been quoted about his plans to 'arrange
interactive workshops with stakeholders to discuss
these'. (the way i see it, DMP debate is trapped in
anti-plan 'stakeholder' disourse and unless rescued by
institutions of urban professions or anti-imperialist
politics, there is only one way DMP can go - down)

the coinsident Yamuna-Thames remark and Indo-Brit
Prime Ministerial at Humayun's Tomb bother me for
non-DMP reasons. The Indian Rebellion of 1857 truly
began with the taking of Delhi after rebels from
Meerut arrived over the bridge-of-boats on Yamuna on
May 11. The re-taking, in September, ended with
capture of Bahadurshah Zafar and his sons and grandson
from Humayun's Tomb. The princes were summarily executed.
