The USAID sponsored MML has been gathering more states which are
drafting laws and ordinances even Many "suggestions of draft MML" in
Orissa Muncipal Corporation ordinance.
It seems that the whole process is completely independent of
constitutional route and even without a strict central govt deadline the
above
ordinance has been promulgated. Freinds in all places need to get a
quick tab on this. It s happening completely silently.
It seems the DMC hgas reveiwed the Revenue Chapter of the DMC Act.
Uttaranchal, Gujarat, MP, HP, AP, Orissa and maharashtra have set up
committees reviewing the existing acts and suggesting revisions. It
seems where RR is working with the Go Rajasthan as a Financial advisor a
draft state municipal law has been drafted.
The Muncipal Corporation of Delhi amendment act 2005 has also been
drafted by the same bunch being part of the committee. USAID, TRF,
Kolkatta and EPC ahmedabad.
