Punjab CM thanks PM for approving science institute
Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh
today thanked Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh for
giving approval to set up an Indian Institute of
Science Education & Research (IISER) in Punjab, first
of its kind in Northern India.

The Chief Minister further said that the people of
Punjab were really indebted to the Prime Minister for
his benevolence and vision for taking personal
initiative for the overall development and growth in
the state that was apparent from the package announced
by him at Ludhiana during his last visit, which
included development of Ludhiana city as a modern
metro under the National Urban Renewal Mission to
attract prospective entrepreneurs and investors in a
big way.
