Rajasthan Govt initiates work on Urban Renewal Mission

Schemes for development of infrastructure in three cities of Rajasthan
identified under the Jawaharlal Nehru Urban Renewal Mission is being made,
said state Secretary for Urban Development Lalit K Pawar here at a
workshop.
State capital Jaipur, pilgrim centres Ajmer and Pushkar have been

Rajasthan Urban Infrastructure Finance and Development Corporation has
been identified as the nodal agency for the execution of the projects
envisaged in the state under the mission.
Besides, a proposal for creating a state level steering committee for the
execution of the mission in these cities has been forwarded to the state
government...

Urban Reforms Action Plan has been approved by Rajasthan Chief Minister
Vasundhara Raje while City Development Plans (CDP) for the the three
cities is being prepared.
The CDP will be completed by the end of this year, Mr Pawar said, adding
that it will incorporate perpective framework for 20-25 years for urban
development in the state.
