Parties hit the ceiling over CM's remarks

Major political parties have taken a dig at Maharashtra Chief Minister
Vilasrao Deshmukh's remarks that his government needed to "build a
consensus" on repealing the Urban Land Ceiling (ULC) Act by saying there
was already an absolute unanimity on the issue... "Whatever Union Minister
for Urban Development Jaipal Reddy has said is the party policy and
Deshmukh should follow it. It is as simple as that." ...repealing of the
ULC Act is a quid pro quo for getting financial assistance from the state
under the Jawaharlal Nehru Urban Renewal Mission.
