UP refuses land for Metro project

NEW DELHI: UP has put a spanner in the Metro line going to Noida. After
acting tough on water for Sonia Vihar and land for Commonwealth Games
Village, UP is now refusing to part with 14 hectares of land required by the
Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) for its work on the banks of Yamuna.
Despite repeated requests by DMRC since October, UP irrigation department is
not moving ahead the proposal. DMRC requires this land to develop a station,
a depot and line alignment near Yamuna.
