NEW DELHI, MAY 15: The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has agreed to provide
technical assistance worth $2 million to the urban development ministry for
implementation of the ambitious Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal
Mission (JNNURM). In addition, the Centre would fund an outlay of $5 lakh
for the JNNURM.
...........................
“The technical assistance is meant to strengthen the capacity of the urban
development ministry for effective and speedy implementation of JNNURM,”
said a senior government official.
According to the officials, the much-needed technical assistance would
expedite the clearance of all the projects, which have fallen into rough
weather due to technical constraints. The government will also provide all
information and logistical support required for the technical assistance
activities.
