Demand to notify Tejinder Khanna Committee report

NEW DELHI: Senior Congress leader Subhash Chopra along with some party MLAs
called on Union Urban Development Minister Jaipal Reddy on Friday demanding
notification of the Tejinder Khanna Committee report and its incorporation
into the Master Plan for Delhi-2001.
According to Mr. Chopra, the Minister assured him that the July 21
notification about implementation of certain portions of the Tejinder Khanna
Committee report on mixed land use and building by-laws would be notified
and incorporated into the Master Plan for Delhi-2001 soon. This would
provide relief to large sections of the affected people.
Ground realities
Mr. Chopra said the Minister assured him that the Union Government was well
aware of the ground realities and there was no need to panic as adequate
measures were being put in place to ensure that the law was also complied
with and relief was also provided to the common man.
