NGOs to be exempted from sealings

New Delhi, september 26: NGOs across the city are
heaving a sigh of relief as they have been exempt from
sealing.
Several of these organisations have their offices in
residential areas. While some of them had been sealed
others faced imminent sealing.
A number of NGOs had made a representation before the
Supreme Court Monitoring committee urging that they be
exempt from MCD action.
It was decided that NGOs and trusts which are
registered in India or abroad, and function from
residential premises, will not be sealed.
