The government school-private school divide is caused by perceptions of
quality of education. Received wisdom suggests that the latter have better
teaching, are better managed etc. Education for what? - is a relevant
question. `Good' results= admission to `good' higher education institutions?
There was a nice article about the latter in The Hindu yesterday.
